Height: 4cm Length: 12cm Width: 7.5cm
A shiny gold Harrier, with a silver cockpit, black rubberised nose and a fair bit of kibble visible. He has yellow, black and blue stripes on the wings and tail with "4" on the right wing & tail and his name on the left wing. So having your name on your wing isn't a great disguise, but then he's already a golden harrier so who cares, right? Anyway, as mentioned, he has robot bits clearly visible. The fuselage noticeably widens just behind the cockpit, and the arms are easy to see on the sides. While the kibble is all gold, it affects the shape of the plane mode and has never sat well with me.
Like the other Aerialbots he has rolling undercarriage, however unlike his friends, his front wheel does not retract into the nosecone - it's under the fuselage.
TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE
Swing the tail and nose onto his back and join them into a backpack. Swing the wings up, grab the legs and pull down. Swing the arms out and stand him up. Be very careful with this toy. This gold plastic, of which Hasbro was so fond of around 1989-1994, is very brittle.
Height: 8cm Width: 3cm at shoulders
He's still mainly gold, with a die cast silver painted chest, silver face and a blue forehead and blue kneecaps. The blue looks nowhere near as bad as it might sound - in fact it helps to accentuate his face - the G1 version had both an orange face and orange forehead, which hid the face detail to a fair extent. There's a big prominent black stripe down his torso - which is the front wheel of the undercarriage, but otherwise he's gold.
Like the other Aerialbots, he's got ball and socket joints on his shoulders. However he's got very thin spindly arms so they look kinda needly in any pose. Actually Slingshot looks rather skinny in robot mode overall. Considering the kibble in plane mode, you wonder if they couldn't have made the plane mode slightly bigger and avoided both of these problems. I find his anorexia rather annoying, since it wouldn't have taken much more than this to make him a much better toy.
None that I'm aware of.
My least favourite Aerialbot, now in a shiny brittle gold plastic. The mould could easily have been better, the other Aerialbot moulds are better. The other G2 Aerialbots all form a unified colour theme, but Slingshot ruins this. Throw in the tendency for this gold plastic to fracture and this is not a good toy. The only reason I bought the toy was to complete Superion, and even then he brings Superion down. If you want a Slingshot, the G1 version is the one to get, even at twice the price, since it's not so inherently brittle. The colour scheme itself isn't bad, but creates enough problems to ruin this toy. Only get him if you want to complete G2 Superion - 3/10
